CLOVELLY LAKES
The background of the home page on Clovelly Lakes is a stunning video. There is no overlay of text because the images speak for themselves.
DDC SCAFFOLDING
I utilised DDC Scaffolding’s promo video for their homepage to immediately differentiate them from smaller players in the market.
I also created localised landing pages for each region where the company has a depot, providing a local phone number.
I carried out market research to understand what people were searching for and what their primary concerns and expectations might be when considering hiring a scaffolding firm. With this knowledge I carefully crafted page titles to answer a broad range of searchers’ intents and crafted narrative to meet the market’s expectations of a professional scaffolding service provider.
FRANCES HEALY INTERIORS
I recently upgraded the original website I created for Frances on Squarespace 7.0 to the all-new 7.1 platform. It may not sound like much, but it represents a completely refreshed design that really allows us to show off Frances’ stunning interior design projects. Frances saw an advertisement on TV where the tagline was animated as if being handwritten and asked if it would be possible to have such a thing on her website. I duly converted the text into a scalable vector graphic and wrote code to instruct the browser to animate each letter in sequence when the page loads. Needless to say, she was extremely pleased with the result.
THE DITTOS OF DAWLISH
Wimbeldon Common has the Wombles, Dawlish has The Dittos. The Dittos Trail is a journey around Dawlish for children to spot miniature houses said to be occupied by The Dittos. The concept is to obtain a map from various shops in Dawlish and check-off those houses you have found on the trail.
ABBEY RECORDING COMPANY
The ARC is a world-class recording studio in Oxfordshire who required a web design that would have big bold imagery to show-off the amazing working environment they had built and an enviable equipment list.
They are currently undergoing trials for a new PPV Streaming service that will allow artists to stream live from the studio to a paying audience worldwide.
INSULATED GARDEN ROOMS
Insulated Garden Rooms were a start-up business with very little in terms of pictures or content. They were seeking a simple, low-cost site just to get them started.
PETE BUYS BIKES
Pete was very clear in what he wanted. A simple, low-cost website with very straightforward messaging.
RAVENSFIELD HOUSE
Ravensfield House is exclusively booked through holidaycottages.co.uk, but the owners wanted the property to have its own dedicated website.
TINTWORX
The new owners of Tintworx inherited an out-of-date website on an ageing platform. I built a redesigned website on Squarespace 7.1 that allows for big, bold images, on-page video and customer stories.
Tintworx have excellent Google reviews so I implemented a live Google reviews widget high on the home page and created a dedicated ‘Reviews’ page with a prominent link in the main menu. In terms of SEO and conversion rate optimisation (CRO), user-generated reviews from trusted sources are mana from heaven.
Tintworx required a gallery that could be filtered by project type. For this bespoke functionality I implemented custom code that determines the image category from text in the image description.
